How to Track Your Airdrop Portfolio With a Simple Spreadsheet
⚡ Executive Brief & Key Takeaways
  • Primary Signal: How to Track Your Airdrop Portfolio With a Simple Spreadsheet
  • Overview: Airdrop farming across many projects quickly becomes chaos without tracking. Build a simple spreadsheet for wallets, protocols, costs, points and claims, and review it monthly....
  • Verification: Analyzed and compiled by FreeFortune Crypto editorial monitoring desk.

Airdrop farming starts simply, with one wallet and one protocol, but it quickly becomes chaotic as projects multiply. Without tracking, farmers forget which wallets they used, which protocols they tried, what tasks remain, and how much gas they spent, and that confusion leads to missed claims, duplicated effort, and wasted fees. A simple spreadsheet, maintained consistently, solves all of those problems at once, and it costs nothing but a few minutes after each farming session.

The core of a tracker is a list of protocols, one row per project, with columns for the protocol name, chain, wallet used, date started, tasks completed, points or status, gas or costs spent, and claim status. That structure lets you answer, at a glance, which projects are active, which are waiting for a claim, and which have been abandoned, without searching through wallet history or chat messages. Add a notes column for links to official documentation, so you never need to search for a project's official pages again.

Wallets deserve their own section, because farming across multiple wallets is where confusion grows fastest. Record each wallet's purpose, such as main holdings, farming, or testnet, and never mix purposes, because a farming wallet that also holds significant assets defeats the security benefit of separation. Note which wallets are linked to which protocols, and keep wallet addresses in the tracker, not seed phrases or private keys, which should never be stored in a spreadsheet or any digital document.

Costs are the column most farmers skip, and the column that most changes decisions. Record gas fees, bridge fees, and any capital committed for each protocol, even approximately, because those totals reveal whether a farming campaign is actually profitable in expectation. A project that consumed significant fees over months for an uncertain reward looks very different in a tracker than it feels in the moment, and that clarity helps you stop unprofitable campaigns earlier rather than later.

Points and status tracking needs regular updates, but not daily obsession. Update points balances weekly or monthly, note any rule changes announced by the project, and mark protocols as active, paused, or abandoned based on your current judgement. A paused protocol is not a failure; it is a deliberate decision to stop spending time or fees until conditions change, and recording that decision prevents you from drifting back into it out of habit or fear of missing out.

Claim tracking is the section that protects real value. When a project announces a claim window, record the eligibility result, allocation, claim deadline, transaction details, and where claimed tokens were moved afterwards. Missing a claim deadline because you forgot a project existed is a painful and entirely avoidable loss, and a tracker with a deadlines column, checked weekly during claim seasons, prevents it. Set reminders for important deadlines outside the spreadsheet as well, so a forgotten spreadsheet does not become a forgotten claim.

Review your tracker monthly with three questions: which protocols still deserve time or fees, which should be paused or abandoned, and which claims or deadlines need action this month. That review turns farming from a scattered hobby into a managed activity, where effort follows evidence rather than hype. A spreadsheet will not make airdrops appear, but it will ensure that when they do, you know about them, you can claim them safely, and you understand what they actually cost you to earn.

A final tracking improvement is to add a simple dashboard at the top of your spreadsheet summarising total protocols active, total costs spent, total claims completed, and upcoming deadlines in the next thirty days. That one-glance summary is what you actually check most days, while the detailed rows remain available when you need them, and it prevents the common problem where a detailed tracker becomes so long that nobody opens it. A tracker you glance at daily, even briefly, protects value far better than a perfect tracker you abandon after a month.
